The Gasparilla Inn

The largest and most recognizable Boca Grande hotel is the 104 year-old Gasparilla Inn. The recipient of countless awards, Travel & Leisure recently ranked the grand hotel #1 Resort in Florida and #7 Resort in the U.S; citing the “century-old resort that remains a bastion of Old Florida elegance…and the family-friendly service and devotion to repeat visitors, many of whom have been coming for generations.”  Even if you aren’t staying at the hotel, you should take the time to walk through the lobby and visit BZs, the hotel bar.  But if you want to golf at the Pete Dye designed 18-hole championship course, named by Golf Week as “one of the top 25 in Florida” you will need a room key!  The Inn still closes in the “off season” from mid-July to October, a throw-back to days gone by when snowbirds returned North.  By staying at the Inn, you also have access to the Beach & Tennis Club directly on the Gulf of Mexico.  While a little pricey during the high season (Jan–Apr), the amenities, location and proximity for things to do more than make up for the room charge.  Also check their website for “off-season” specials.

Boca Grande Hotels On the Water

Innlet on the Waterfront

The Innlet on the Waterfront, owned and operated by the Gasparilla Inn, is an old school motel-style accommodation where you can park your car at the front door and tie off your boat at the back door. Two bed standard rooms from $135 per night, make the Innlet one of the most economical options on the island. There is a pool and boat ramp with slips right outside your room with a quick idle to Charlotte Harbor and wonderful fishing. Kids can fish off the dock, grills for cookouts are provided and pets are welcome. The other bonus about staying at the Innlet is the “Outlet” restaurant on property, boasting by far the best breakfast on the island!

The Boca Grande Resort is a comfortable hotel located at the north end of the island. They have easy access to a boat ramp and slips at Uncle Henry’s Marina if boating or fishing is on your menu. The hotel lacks direct beach access; however, a golf cart ride from The Boca Grande Resort will take you Downtown and to many public beach access points.

Bed and Breakfast

Other options on Boca Grande include bed and breakfast style rooms at the Anchor Inn and Palmetto Inn. The rooms are typically smaller, have fewer amenities and in some instances a bathroom located down the hall. But both B&B’s are centrally located in Downtown Boca Grande. Other options include Airbnb, VRBO and searching for rentals on various real estate websites. Many rentals require one week minimums, but there are a few exceptions.
